the storm

Lying in bed. The sheets kicked off. The darkness broken suddenly by the vivid strobe of light. It fills the room with the charged energy of anticipation. The fan whirs its hypnotic rhythm. Counting; "one-one hundred, two-one hundred, three-one hundred…" waiting. Waiting for that sound to slice open the entire fabric of the sky. Thunder approaches with smells of memories drenched in childhood, forgotten tears, silent squeals of innocent excitement. Senses saturated as the rain begins to fall. Eyelids heavy. A lullaby of rain on a tin roof. A sleep of all that heaven must be.

This photograph leaves a great feel to it's viewers but over all doesn't leave a strong message. The main focal point to the top left corner is perfect in its balance with the change in texture. I feel the image is somewhat distracted though, the plants growing to the bottom right corner confuse the straight clean roots. That generally disappoints me in this photo, but in a complete whole of a photograph the flow, the variety of texture, the composition and the angle of it make this piece really great. Its a visually appealing piece, and i really like its coloring and its controlled lighting, but it does need a few points of help. Good job!
